A Stranger In Her Own City

This is the story of a brave, fiercely independent 13-year old girl in Yemen. It is a documentary directed by Khadija Al-Salami. This is part 1 of 3 and I think everyone should watch it. I wonder if it is inherent to have a strong conscious when I see young children as the girl in this story, who seems able to seek honesty quite openly despite the society she is growing up in. I've always been interested in the depth of influence a country has on a person as they are growing up and what part of their personality would be there regardless of their nationality.
