so i have discovered that mrs. eleanor roosevelt was born on the same day as I, and I have come to be rather fond of this first lady/diplomat/humanitarian/my birth sister through her words:
"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."
"The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences."
"Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one."
"I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them untill he gets a record of successful experience behind him."
"Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product."
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do and damned if you don't."
"You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
"Never allow a person to tell you no who doesn't have the power to say yes."
"I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on. Life was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life."
"It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness."
"When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?"
I have also discovered that descriptions of my astrological sign seem to be pretty dead on. Astrology should be a major...maybe it is some where, but its relevance is quite real. Even more ironic is that the description of my Chinese sign(rat) and my Zodiac sign (libra) are almost the same. wwwwweirdddddddddddddd, but true.
